🍀 The short version: Lucky Loop is a community pot for fun — not a registered lottery. We collect only what we need to run the loop fairly. Your data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for marketing. Your passwords are encrypted. Your ID number is used only to enforce one account per person. Names appear on the leaderboard — everything else is private.
1. Eligibility
To participate in Lucky Loop, you must:
- Be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID number.
- Be 18 years of age or older. Lucky Loop involves financial transactions and is not suitable for minors.
- Hold a South African bank account in your own name. This is required to receive payouts.
- Provide accurate personal information during registration. Providing false information may result in account termination and forfeiture of any winnings.
Lucky Loop is intended for South African residents only. By registering, you confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements.
2. How Lucky Loop Works
Lucky Loop is a weekly community pot system, not a registered lottery or gambling service. Here is how it operates:
- Each week, one registered member is designated as the pot-holder. They are selected randomly (see Section 10 for how the draw works).
- The pot-holder receives a unique personal share link. Anyone who pays the weekly entry fee via that link is entered into the pool for the next week's draw.
- At the end of the draw week, the pot-holder receives all collected funds for that week, minus applicable fees (see Section 3).
- The next pot-holder is then randomly selected from all members who made a confirmed payment that week.
- You must pay the entry fee every week to be eligible for that week's draw. Registration alone does not enter you into any draw.
- If no one pays in a given week, the current pot-holder remains for another week. If only one person pays, a random selection is made between that person and the current pot-holder.
Lucky Loop is operated as a community activity between consenting adults. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Lottery Commission of South Africa. Participation is voluntary.
3. Fees & Payouts
Lucky Loop operates transparently with the following fee structure:
- Entry fee: R10.00 per draw, per week.
- PayFast payment fee: 15% of the entry amount, deducted from the pot. This covers PayFast's processing charges and a small operational margin.
- EFT payment fee: 5.00% of the entry amount, deducted from the pot. This covers manual processing and admin time.
- Payout fee: R10.00 for every R1,000.00 of pot value (or part thereof). This covers bank transfer fees and operational costs.
All fees are deducted before the pot-holder receives their payout. The remaining balance is the payout amount. All fee settings are publicly visible on this page and may be updated from time to time with notice.
Lucky Loop is not designed as a profit-driven business. Fees are set to cover payment processing costs, hosting, domain, and reasonable operational time. Any surplus is minimal.
4. Referrals & Extra Entries
Members can earn extra draw entries by referring others to pay via their personal share link:
- 5 confirmed referrals in a draw week = +1 extra entry
- 15 confirmed referrals in a draw week = +2 extra entries
- 25 or more referrals in a draw week = +3 extra entries (maximum)
A referral is counted when someone — new or existing member — makes a confirmed payment using your personal link in a given draw week. Referral counts reset each week. Extra entries increase your probability of being selected as the next pot-holder but do not guarantee selection.
Attempting to game the referral system (e.g. by creating fake accounts, making payments on behalf of others, or any other fraudulent behaviour) is grounds for immediate account termination and forfeiture of any winnings.
5. Accounts & One-Person Policy
One account per person, strictly enforced. Each person may only hold one Lucky Loop account. Your South African ID number is used to enforce this — the system will reject any registration attempt using an ID number already on file.
Creating multiple accounts to gain additional draw entries or referral credits is a violation of these terms and will result in:
- Immediate banning of all accounts associated with that person
- Forfeiture of any winnings from those accounts
- Permanent exclusion from Lucky Loop
If you believe your ID number was registered in error (e.g. by someone else), contact us at support@blu-tec.co.za immediately.
6. Data We Collect (POPIA Disclosure)
Lucky Loop is committed to compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013. We collect and process personal information only as necessary to operate the service.
Information you provide at registration:
- Full name and surname — used to identify you in the system and on the leaderboard
- Email address — used for account authentication, notifications, and payout communication
- Phone number — used for account identification and payout coordination
- South African ID number — used solely to enforce one account per person; never displayed publicly; partially masked in the admin interface
- Password — stored as a one-way bcrypt hash; we cannot read your password
Information generated by your use of the service:
- Payment records — method, amount, date, and status of each entry payment. Card details are never stored — PayFast handles payment processing.
- Draw history — which draws you entered and whether you won
- Referral records — which payments were made via your link
- Login sessions — to keep you logged in securely
- Server logs — IP addresses and access times, retained briefly for security purposes
What we do NOT collect:
- Credit or debit card details (handled entirely by PayFast)
- Social media profiles or data
- Device or browser fingerprints beyond standard server logs
- Location data
Purpose of collection:
All personal information is collected for the sole purpose of operating Lucky Loop — managing accounts, processing entries, conducting draws, and facilitating payouts. It is not used for any other purpose.
Data retention:
Your personal information is retained for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping and dispute resolution (typically 12 months after account closure). Payment records may be retained longer for financial record-keeping purposes.
7. Security & Passwords
- Passwords are encrypted using bcrypt, a strong one-way hashing algorithm. We cannot see, recover, or reverse your password. If you forget it, you must reset it via email.
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption).
- Your SA ID number is stored securely and is only visible (partially masked) to site administrators for account management purposes.
- Payment processing is handled by PayFast, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We never see or store your card details.
- We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure. By using Lucky Loop you acknowledge this inherent risk.
8. Your Privacy & Your Rights
We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose your personal information to any third party for any commercial, marketing, or other purpose. Ever. Full stop.
What is publicly visible:
- Your first name and surname appear on the weekly and all-time referral leaderboards, and are displayed to other members when you are the current pot-holder.
- No other personal information is shown to other members.
Your POPIA rights:
- Right to access — you may request a copy of all personal information we hold about you.
- Right to correction — you may update your name, phone, and email via your profile. To change your ID number, contact us.
- Right to deletion — you may request deletion of your account and personal data. Note that payment records may be retained for legal and financial record-keeping purposes.
- Right to object — you may object to any processing of your data that you believe is unlawful.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@blu-tec.co.za. We will respond within a reasonable time and in compliance with POPIA.
Third parties:
The only third-party services Lucky Loop uses are:
- PayFast — for payment processing. Your payment data is subject to PayFast's privacy policy.
- Google reCAPTCHA v3 (if enabled) — used on the sign-up form to prevent automated bot registrations. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Your hosting provider — server infrastructure. Standard server logs may be retained per their policies.
No other third parties receive your data.
9. Payout Process
Payouts are made manually by the Lucky Loop administrator via EFT to the winner's South African bank account. To receive a payout:
- You must be the confirmed pot-holder for that draw week.
- You must have a valid South African bank account in your own name.
- You will be contacted via the email address on your account to arrange payment details.
- Payouts are made within a reasonable time after the draw closes, typically within 2–3 business days.
- We are not liable for delays caused by bank processing times, incorrect banking details provided by the winner, or other circumstances beyond our control.
If you win but cannot be contacted within 14 days, or if your banking details are incorrect, the payout may be held pending resolution. Unclaimed payouts after 30 days may be carried over to the next draw pool at the administrator's discretion.
10. Fairness & Draw Integrity
Lucky Loop is committed to a fair and transparent draw process:
- The next pot-holder is selected using a weighted random draw — each confirmed payer gets at least one entry, with bonus entries for referrals (see Section 4).
- The draw is conducted automatically by the system's weekly cron job — no human selects the winner.
- Administrators are not excluded from winning but do not have the ability to influence the random selection.
- Payment confirmation is required before an entry is counted. Pending EFT payments are not included in the draw until confirmed.
- All draw history is recorded and visible to the administrator. Historical records are retained permanently.
If you believe there has been an irregularity in a draw result, contact us within 7 days of the draw date. We will review the relevant records and respond.
11. Account Termination & Bans
Your account may be suspended or permanently banned in the following circumstances:
- Creating multiple accounts
- Providing false eligibility information (name, ID number, SA citizenship)
- Attempting to game the referral or entry system fraudulently
- Chargebacks or disputed payments through PayFast without legitimate cause
- Any behaviour that undermines the integrity or fairness of the draw
Banned users are notified of the reason and may appeal by contacting support@blu-tec.co.za. Winnings accrued through fraudulent activity are forfeited.
You may also close your own account at any time by contacting us. Account closure does not entitle you to a refund of entry fees paid.
12. Limitation of Liability
Lucky Loop is operated as a community activity in good faith. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law:
- We are not liable for any loss of winnings due to technical failures, PayFast downtime, or events beyond our reasonable control.
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on Lucky Loop as a primary source of income.
- We make no guarantee of the size of any weekly pot — pot size depends entirely on how many members pay in that week.
- We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue Lucky Loop at any time. In such an event, any accumulated pot at the time of suspension will be paid out to the current pot-holder.
- By participating, you acknowledge that Lucky Loop is a fun community activity and not a regulated financial product.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Where changes are significant, we will notify registered members by email.
Continued use of Lucky Loop after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
